It’s official: the best roses in the world are made from 100% Mourvedre in Bandol, the tiny French appellation along the Mediterranean coast. It just so happens we have the best Bandol rose right here waiting for you.*

If you are a true connoisseur of rose wines (like us), then the name Bandol echos repeatedly in your ear like "xanadu" and "rosebud". A thin sliver along the French Mediterranean coast on the way to St. Tropez, Nice, and Monte Carlo, Bandol produces stunning red and rose wines prominently featuring the Mourvedre grape. In fact, all red and rose wines coming out of Bandol must contain at least 50% Mourvedre, though most producers go the whole hog and a full 100% with their wines. Chateau Salettes sits upon the northern edge of the appellation and sixteen generations of the same family have been producing for decades some of the top roses to come out of Bandol. Delicately salmon pink with rich flavors of cherry and raspberry, surprisingly rich for a rose, this is a treat not to be missed. Pair this up with a grilled medium-rate filet, and it's like you're spending a day on the French Riviera.
